Christmas 2011 Mini Sessions {Calgary Family Photographer}

November 7th, 2011

It’s that time again! Time for Christmas Mini Sessions. Often, a full hour of shooting just isn’t needed. Especially in winter, and in the studio. It’s that time again! Time for Christmas Mini Sessions.

Often, a full hour of shooting just isn’t needed. Especially in winter, and in the studio. So, at different times of the year, I offer mini sessions, which are 20-25 minutes instead of an hour; with different packages, prices and specials. This is what I’m doing this time:

When: November 19th & 20th – Sessions run continuously from 10am until 5pm. You pick what 1/2 time slot works best for you.
Where: My studio – in Chaparral (we’ve put off the basement reno until the New Year!)
How Much? The session is only $25. About 4-5 days later, your images will be up on a password protected gallery, and you can just order what you want. No packages, nothing you don’t need. My Print/Digital File prices can be seen here

The whole idea is to get at least one perfect photo for you to use in your Christmas Cards. (I also do cards, FYI).

Attn: Sylvan Lake/Red Deer people: I am available to come up and do Minis on November 27th if I have enough interest. Email me if you want to be put on a list.

Sylvan Lake Family {Sylvan Lake Family Photographer}

December 8th, 2010

Sylvan Lake Family is photographed in the leaves.

I met this family up in Sylvan Lake to do a family session. It was a bit chilly, and there weren’t a lot of leaves left on the trees, but we had a good time, and managed to get a few really good images. We tried to get some with their dog, but that proved to be a very hard feat!

Just a note to the Sylvan Lake people, I am now booking for outdoor Spring shoots! My availability in Sylvan is quite limited, so don’t delay! I always make time for newborns however, so if you are pregnant, let me know your estimated due date so I can be ready to drive up! Oh, by the way…type in www.sylvanlakephotographer.com and see what happens! *blush* It’s me!

AND, also…I kinda get lonely here on this blog. If you are here, leave a comment! Even to just say hi!

Baby V was tiny but very alert, and little girl K was so animated and funny, it was a joy to spend some time with them.

And, lucky for them, they came to the cabin for their session and my Dad, “Grumpa” offered the kids a train ride, and the parents a beer. Professionalism:FAIL. We’re still laughing about how they asked us if we were from Saskatchewan. LOL! The fact that everything is either John Deere, or painted to look like it is, really makes people wonder. (Not that there’s anything wrong with being from Saskatchewan!!)
It was awesome seeing you guys again!

Canola Field Love {Sylvan Lake Family Photographer}

August 12th, 2010

A few weeks ago while driving to the cabin, the canola fields were the brightest I’ve ever seen. I enjoy bright yellow fields. Immensely. I must of sounded like a tourist, going on and on about them the whole way there. Anyway, we had friends out to the cabin that weekend, and while the Daddies [...]

Anyway, we had friends out to the cabin that weekend, and while the Daddies went fishing, the Mommy’s went photographing. Here’s some of my faves:

Friday Favourite Finds {Calgary & Sylvan Lake Photographer}

May 21st, 2010

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve done a Friday Favourite Finds post. Been busy with my brother’s wedding reception – which was last Saturday, and well, just parenting!  I’ve had a few shoots over the last couple weeks, so I’ve been proofing those as well. I also have a brand new nephew (who I get [...]

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve done a Friday Favourite Finds post. Been busy with my brother’s wedding reception – which was last Saturday, and well, just parenting!  I’ve had a few shoots over the last couple weeks, so I’ve been proofing those as well. I also have a brand new nephew (who I get to meet in a couple hours), and I’m very much looking forward to photographing him!

My Favourite Finds for this week:

www.designspongeonline.com – great decor & idea blog
www.recipeezaar.com – My all-time favourite recipe site. You can search for recipes and then sort them by rating, so you get the highest rated ones first. Used it just this morning, when I ran out of pancake mix, and had to make some from scratch (gasp!).
Greyson Chance- move over Justin Bieber! I don’t know how old this is, I see he’s already been on Ellen…but this kid is incredible. Watch the Ellen clip too.
Social Media Revolution – this video is about something very near & dear to my heart…the importance of Social Media. I strongly believe people in my generation need to stay in the loop – especially stay at home moms who may want to re-enter the workforce one day. Do not let this pass you by.
Facebook in Real Life - Very funny video.

And, because it’s May Long Weekend, and I get to go to my favourite place today…a pic of my cabin last year on May long…let’s hope we don’t wake up to this again this year! Followed by some of my favourite ‘summery’ images!

Sylvan Family :: Sylvan Lake Family Photography

So, the next Saturday, I hopped in the car and drove up the good ol’ #2 to meet this wonderful family. It was still quite chilly outside, but the kids (and the parents) were troopers, and we managed to get some pretty Christmas Card-worthy shots!
